Sa recherche en neurobiologie aida à explorer comment les tumeurs du cerveau se développent à partir de cellules souches neuronales. Depuis 1991 il était chercheur et enseignant à l’université de Basel. A l’occasion de sa retraite, le réseau de neuroscience des universités EUCOR « Neurex » organise un symposium scientifique en son honneur. La manifestation d’adieu durera toute la journée du 23 janvier 2015, sera publique et aura lieu dans le « Hörsaal 1 » du Pharmazentrum à partir de 9 heure. Le thème sera « le développement du system neuronal des invertébrés » et la manifestation se terminera par la cours d’adieu du futur émerité.
